i have had this colt for about 3 weeks and the last few days it seems to be limp and not expanding as much as it first did...I did notice that my clarki clown has taken to him and will swim in and around him as if he is hosting with it...any thoughts as if it looks ok .....thanks

redwine1234 what is the yellow one called??

if you are referring to the yellow one in the first picture as far as I know it is a sponge..

The pic was taken with pumps off and I have recently just swapped out my one MJ 900 for 2-koralia 2's so the tank is gettin g more flow to it.....it still looks pretty much the same

I agree with Laf in that it looks fine but may be disturbed by the clown trying to bond with it and would move your pumps to that they lift it up into the water column. They do not have any muscles per say so if there is no water movement around the coral it will just lay on the ground.

Is this the same as a Kenya Tree? If it is, or if it's anything like it, my Kenya Tree drooped and closed up under medium to high flow. I found it likes low flow much better. Try changing it's position in the tank.

mine recently retracted to very tiny then gradually got bigger back to normal size over the next 4 days. Looks totally normal now. My leathers have always shrunk up every once and a while to re-emerge as healthy as ever afterwards. If it stays small for a while I would start worrying but if its only a couple days I wouldn't worry.

i moved it to get a little more flow and seems to look a little better..i have new lights on order so i will have to wait and see after i acclimate the tank to the new lights if it has any effect on it.

Looks fine, my clowns actually cause my colt to enlarge in size, so over time the colt will get use to them. These really need an almost upward flow of water, really not an easy way to achieve this, so have two sources of flow one on each side of the tank, and point them at each other. This creates some nice flow. The colt looks fine, they have periods, where polyp extension and water retention are less. No need to worry they come back around. If they do not check your flow, and test your water, Running a lot of carbon that is frequently changed is a must for these animals.

heres an updated pic seems to be ok its been in this spot for about 3 days
it does have two spots on top that seem to becoming white towards the top on the ends any ideas on what it is good or bad?

It looks fine, these are some of the most user friendly corals out there.

second shot you can see the smaller one.

I bought the large one a little over a year ago and it was the same size as yours. So they take off quickly.
