well while i was doing a water change i noticed a worm wrapped around the colt. i was able to suck him out with a pipet. it looks very long and skinny white to brown in color with hair like legs around the body. took pic not able to get very close but here is what it looked like

I had my Colt Coral for a while then noticed one of those wraped around a branch one evening before bed (I shine a flashlight in there to check on the night time critters). I sucked it off with a turkey baster and it looked identical to that one.

Some people think it is a Spaghetti worm, and other a Bristle worm. I don't believe it is either since the bristles/hairs on it are much smaller than a normal Bristle Worm and the Spaghetti worm has a lot of little "tentacles" it sticks out of its mouth if the pics I've seen online are anything to go by.

Another member on the boards told me that he witnessed a similar worm eating his softies from the inside out. So better safe than sorry, kill em all.

:blown:

well heres an update the colt has retracted alot and is very small now it has not stretched out in several weeks does not seem to be dying but just very shriveled up...all other corals are doing great except this one. I have several zoos, mush and leathers in that are doing well....cant seem to figure this guy out I have tried several different positions with him and have not found one that it seems to enjoy...here is a recent pic

Did you run some carbon on your tank? Mine looks like that when my carbon is passed out. Colt are not really aggressive in regards of toxin release so they are easilly affected by others leathers toxins.

yeah i noticed it has been taking a beaten from my yellow leather and its insides seem to be coming out as one of the arms has started to disinergrate

Humm...yellow fiji leather is probably one of the wrost in regards of toxins release...maybe you could change your carbon and put those 2 corals far one of the others.
