im just going on what the person had told us and i cant rember who it was. but i was told they are they mels. but if they are that is what they look like when they are in a real reef tank.(just kiddin) they are under 14k 150whqi in a 29gal. not sure what ones chris was looking at

Some of the EM's I got from Scott a month or so ago are starting to morph in that direction... Perhaps with higher light, it brings out more blue??? The ones on top seem to be "coloring up" faster... The ones on the bottom were what they looked like when I first put them in my tank...

Those are them Don. Chris said they got in a colony and he fragged it into four pieces. Looks like you got one of the pieces
They don't look like Evil Mels to me. I used to hundreds of those.

At any rate I guess my point is they will be nice zoas

That photo is what most of my EvilMel zoas look like. That frag could have been one of the six I traded in a couple of months ago. The ones in high light/current grow small and the arms get thin and "grassy". But most if not all have that blue mottled face. And I have hundreds of those polyps in my tank.

Here is an old pic from my gallery. The green centered ones on the right are the ones that lived through the s.g. 1.019 for-six-plus-months incident. The ones one the left are the more classic new growth. This colony is now about two-hundred polyps -- all with the blue-mottled center. They have deepened in color extended out and grown larger over time, too. Of course, that could be because they were under the old Ushio bulbs at the time of this photo. I now have the Eye Lighting 14K bulbs.

In retrospect I don't think those are the ones Don. The frags from these were at least 50 or so polyps and they were all wild, not tank raised. At any rate if they do look that much like Evil Mel's then we won't frag those.

ill point this one at chris since he is the that got this one going. a lot of people in the store dont even know there is a club or what ever u want to call it. or a forum about it. i try to push club name and the forum. u may want to make some flyers and cards down here .more of a visual. i know im not a member but i like listen to u all and getting and given info as well . most of the people i have told seem stoked. so well see

There aren't many students at the Vet school during the summer....except fourth years and they are working all the time.
Is the newspaper even published during the summer? I know an ad in the newspaper would work well during the school year.

The Daily Beacon publishes Tuesday and Friday during the Summer semester for approximately 10,000 students and 5000 faculty and staff (circulates about 9000 copies). I'd say it is worth it and would vote club funds for it. A 9-issue contract is only worth $9.40 per column inch -- plus $4.50 per column inch if we wish to add a color logo.

We would need to get moving like, by tomorrow, if we were to do this. They have a 5-day lead time on new ads. If we get it in by tomorrow, that gives us five issues before the meeting.

Scott~ Is there any way to make the link to here from the ETRC Home Page a bit more noticeable??? Maybe we can make a banner or something??? Also maybe we can use Discussion Boards or Message Boards as well as Forum for the potentially illiterate... lol LMK what you all think about that???

Also as a club we should probably help Scott out on updating the website... The last pics we have are from 2004...

I've been slackin' on the flyer
I've been over there a couple of times and still haven't gotten one put together yet. I keep getting stuck at the start and spending an hour or two getting no where. If anyone else would like to do one that would be great. If not I hope to have one done by the end of the week. I know the guys at Coral reef are telling people but a date on the wall would be nice and kind of "confirming".
