There are three articles by GregT in Reefkeeping Online, and all three are linked at the base of my "What Is A Sump?" page. You might peruse those, as they are well written and informative.
I really like your new aquascaping! You are going to love your Reefkeeper 2. I love being able to see what my PH is with a glance. Also, my tank temp never swings more than 78 to 80.
My fuge was getting bubbles from the Durso that feeds it. And the water level was so high that the bubbles would pop and spray water onto my hardwood floors.:eek2:
So, Before!
You can see all the salt spray and how high the water level was. Also the light was a 110 w PC which was developing a lot of unnecessary heat.
After!
Nice!
I'll be redoing my timers with my new RK2 and Finnex heater, since the Won Bro one popped!
The fuge is actually above the sump, so the water level in the fuge goes down about 1 1/2" when the return pump is off. The sump rises about 3-4" with about 2" extra space just in case. I'll try and get a picture later today.
Just some random pictures of the tank. The tank seems to be doing rather well, other than one incident. One of my SPS frags bleached out by about half literally overnight. And its polyp extension had not been go ever since I put it in the tank. So I decided to move it to a higher localtion and see. Well, and I hate to admit this, but when I was moving it I accidently grabbed it with the latex glove with superglue on the finger and pretty much covered it in super glue. I know really stupid mistake.
Another really funny thing happened. I noticed that my Bird's nest had fallen off its perch. (It is attached to a piece of rubble about 1" x 3") (I mean the coral plus it's rock had fallen off it's bigger rock)
Well, I reached in and put it back my clown came around behind it and rammed it until it fell off again. He did this three times!!:eek2: I finally put it on the other side of the entrace to the cave and he seems fine with it now.
Here are the random pics. Still learning the camera
Grape Idaho, When I got this in Feburary it was 1 1/2" long by 3/4" wide. Now it is about 4" in diameter. I will need to frag it eventually but it has attached itself to the rocks and I don't know how to get it out without dismantling most of my rock work.
still don't know what this is.
hammer, with three new heads growing in (can't see them in this picture)
Milli, This one was damaged during the tank upgrade. He was starting to grow back but then he was to close to the hammer and it was stinging this poor little guy. I moved him and he already looks better.
