Coming back after a break

hey!

I might be getting salty again after a break of a few years, I want to start 'easy' so was thinking a smallish all in one tank, so I'll have to focus on water chemistry (I'm a chemist anyway).

Can anyone reccomend any tank setups? Also... pointers towards any tanks you find especially inspiring would be great!

:D :celeb1: :celeb2:

What do you want to set up? FOWLR or reef? There are lots of options, so maybe some idea of what you have in mind will help promote suggestions.

Hey, sorry.

Similar to what I had before really - soft corals, small number of fish (matched to tank spec) and the usual cuc.

I recently returned to the hobby after a taking a decade off... Kinda had a similar reentry, wanted to stay small... I'll never again have a monster system, the maintenance and expense just took all of the fun out of it.

I set up a 60g cube, viewable from all sides. Designed and built a custom stand, picked each component carefully, with a good deal of research. I'm primarily interested in SPS, a few clams, and a very few calm, peaceful fish. My mantra has been slow and steady, no rush. I find myself enjoying it immensely :)

Enjoy your return to the hobby! Heh, if you're not enjoying it, why else would you pursue a hobby?

Thanks Beard! I'll check out your thread.

Small and simple is the key I think, especially as we're saving for a wedding!

Personally, I would never buy an AIO as I don't think they work particularly well plus am into DIY so have the skills to build what I want. However, my Office 40B is a very simple setup that just about anyone could duplicate with commercially available gear. The key to this setup is the Tampa Bay Saltwater "The Package" which gave the tank a huge boost of different critters. The only life I've added since I set it up are two fish, the rest came in with the LR and live sand.
