Your are most welcome, and yes as I stated at the beginning of this thread the images of the fish I posted which include a few Tank Bred Mcculloch's Clownfish Pairs- Amphiprion mccullochi will be added and sold in the Divers Den® section of the LiveAquaria.com web site.

If all goes well, and one of the pairs cooperates for their photo session there may even be one pair listed as soon as tomorrow!

It is going to be a while for these fish, but we do plan on posting the Wrought Iron Butterflyfish, Muelleri Butterflyfish, Latezonatus Clownfish Pair and Mccullochi Clownfish Pairs any time now.

kevin, i have a quick question for you that i hope you can answer. why are the McCulloch's clownfish 6,000 dollars, is it because they are hard to get breeding in captivity? or is it because they are hard to find in the ocean and even harder to find in home aquaria?

Amphiprion mccullochi are endemic to only one locale in the entire world, a small island off of the east coast of Australia called Lord Howe Island. This small island in the Pacific Ocean was designated a World Heritage Site in 1982, and the waters in an around this small island are protected by the Lord Howe Island Marine Park. For this reason A. mccullochi have not been available in the aquarium trade for decades.

An Australian enthusiast was able to successfully spawn and rear these incredible fish, and as with most other rarely seen species in the US aquarium trade, fish such as these normally fetch substantial sums in the Japanese marketplace.

This pair of Tank Raised Amphiprion mccullochi is the first to every make its way to the United States, and their price is reflected accordingly.

Having owned and cared for marine fish for decades, it is incredible to have an opportunity myself, to be able to handle and care for these spectacular clownfish.

Well Done Kevin!!! I am surprised you would not try and breed these in house. Obviously have the skill.... Don't let one person corner the market...... Was there a criteria that you would not breed the fish if you bought them from this person, honestly....... T

Our goal with all of the fish that we bring into our Rhinelander Wisconsin facility is to properly care for and condition some of the most desirable species, so we are able to offer the healthiest fish available in the Divers Den®.

Starting a breeding program in house is not our mission right now, as it’s always important to keep focused on what we do best. We will leave that up to you guys......at least for now.

These are very exciting times for all of us here right now who have a passion for marine fish, finally having an opportunity to see species in the US market that once were thought to be impossible to obtain. The passion and desire among the diehard enthusiasts here in this country is great to see, and I am proud to be a part of it, having worked in this industry my entire working life, caring for marine fish.

I look forward to handling, conditioning, and offering many more fish that in years past, I only used to dream about while turning the pages of reef fishes’ books so many years ago.

As with most rumors in the fish biz I take the one about the Seychelles with a grain of salt, but will always keep my fingers crossed. If Centropyge debelius were to become available again, we will surely try and obtain a few of these incredible fish.

Unfortunately the Latez pair will be postponed for a bit, but it is my hope to list them sometime in February if all goes well. January was not their time, as I would like to monitor and condition them for a bit longer.

There are plenty more exciting fish, corals, and inverts in the weeks and months to come, so I encourage everyone interested to please keep an eye out in the Diver's Den®.
