I am planning a 70 Gallon cube and plan on a mixed reef with a medium to heavy bioload. For different reasons I will not include a sump. How well does the comline filter 3166.50 reduce surface scum? I am thinking a skimmer of 9005,9006, 9010 or 9011 and adding the filter to run carbon and filter floss. Does this sound like it may work? Thanks for your input.

The best value would be the Reefpack 500 as it includes this filter, a 9011 and an osmolator. The 31666.500 will do the job, their is some flexibility as you can adjust how much water is skimmed off the surface by choosing 1 or 2 bottom intake pipes and capping 1 hole if you use only 1.
