Is it possible to get pictures with camera flash? The blue lighting makes it difficult to distinguish colors other than several shades of light blue.

here is the flash shot (raw with only a re-size)... not even what they look like to the eye. i got a 14k 70w on them.

Looks like they are some type of people eater morph (green mouth) that has been exposed to lots of light. Thats usually why you see the speckled appearance. Is that a hint of pink around the ring?

It seems like they are in the stages of adjusting to light since they have different markings of zoas within the colony. I would post a pic again in about a month or two once they have all settled in.

Pretty zoas though :) Looks like they are healthy palys.

Thanks for the info... These Zoas are local to me. I was actually lazy and grabbed them from the LFS. They didn't cost me anything, so in this one instance my lazyness paid off.

From what i hear they can be found at the beach a few minutes from my apartment.

Thanks again for the info! I update in a few months to see if there is any change.

Where do you live? I believe what you have are the PE's that have been coming in as maricultured colonies fairly regularly. The colonies are actually pretty cheap, except when greedy retailers get their hands on them and chop them up and charge 10-20 a polyp which I have seen multiple times now. That colony you see of mine was $60 at a LFS known for high markups. Keep an eye on them, they have been melting pretty regularly on people.

I've had no ill effects with these palys... They are pretty hardy. The colony has been fragged several times and i even shipped some to a buddy using the 2 day towel method. His are doing fine and have doubled from 4 to 8 polyps in a months time.
