Common Reasons for Little to No PE?

Do you have an Ozoniser lying around at home or you could borrow from someone that doesnt use one? You might think I'm crazy, but for some reason, running Ozone in my tanks help with PE. I ran Ozone years ago and noticed this effect. A few months ago, I noticed little or no PE in my acros...so I checked my notes, and sure enough it was an observation I had noted before. Within a day of running Ozone, PE is AWESOME. I ran a 25mg/h Sander Ozoniser, for a few hours every few days and it works wonders for PE. My water also turns crystal clear too!

IF water changes improves your polyp extension even for a copuple of minutes, then you are most likely dealing with a water quality issue. If it was a nipping issue then your polyp expension would improve at night. You might consider modifying your vodka dosing regiment or consider improving your base bacteria culture by dosing your tank with one of the bacteria "quick start" cultures. You might consider increasing flow in your tank in order to inrease the flow through your rocks as well. Not for the corals so much but to increase the flow through the rocks. You didnt say, but does this tank have a sand bed in the main display?
