Component ABC and Calcium Reactor

I am a little confused as to whether I should use Components A,B and C. I am using AF Reef Salt and run a calcium reactor.

The reactor looks after my Alk, Ca and Mg, but should I also consider dosing ABC to provide the minerals?

Hello,
Component ABC+Kalium is what would be needed to satisfy trace minerals. ABC can be automated with dosing pumps, Kalium is by the drop and used manually. This does not interfere with your Alk, Ca, or Mg as these are satisfied by your CARX. Cheers :)

Related question to this - at what stage does a 1+2+3 dosing system fail to keep up with Ca demand?

I'm starting a 180g and hope to get to heavy SPS. At some point will I hit a situation where I'm dosing more than evaporation rate and need a Ca reactor? Would adding more Ca to part 1 help with this? Just curious what those with larger systems found and planning for the future.

I use a Ca reactor with coral sand as the media

The coral sand provides
Carbonates
Calcium
Magnesium
Potassium
Strontium
this takes care of the minerals needed for skeletal growth, I have used a reactor for over a decade

from time to time the strontium needs a boost when using Coral Sand as media

I found since dosing ABC my corals have richer colours
these are all that is required if using Coral Media, the elements help the biological processes and pigments

Clearwateruk I have never heard of using coral sand in a ca reactor. do you have any details ?
