which is the best place to get some good cpu fans and what size is appropiate to go inside the canopy.

I put a new fan in a ballast recently and it moves some good air and is not real noisy. I got it from Gateway electronics over off page and shuetz(probally misspelled) Rd The fan was only $9 and another 2 bucks for the wireing harnest I needed to match the ballast. This fan is a little more heavy duty than a normal PC Fan as well but it is a 90mm fan.

i don't know about you guys but i buy all my computer parts or stuff from pricewatch.com, newegg.com, zipzoomfly.com, or tigerdirect good service from all, competitive prices.

some of those from drfoster look ok but i think company put "for aquarium use" and jack up rates. i just want somthing that will be built to last the harsh environment and save money.

That top one looks nice for those that do not have a canopy.

I Think I'm going to buy the Fans off windydayzz and try them out. I will let everyone know how they work and sound. There has been a lot of talk about needing fans over the past couple of weeks.

If you’re interested in some cheap & quiet computer fans, check out this site

I personally have the
Thermaltake 80mm High Performance DC Fans, 4 Piece Value Pack, Model: A2364

Specifications: P/N: A2364. Dimension: 80 x 80 x 25 mm. Start Voltage: 6V / 7V Max. Power Input: 1.2W. Rated Current: 0.10A. Fan Speed: 2000+- 10% RPM. Max. Air Flow: 27.8CFM. Max. Air Pressure: 1.98mm-H2O. Noise: 21dBA. Bearing Type: Sleeve. Life Expectation: 30,000 hrs. Connector: Molex 4-Pin.

21dBA ===> you can't hear them.
27.8CFM ==> decent air flow (giving up flow for less noise)

Oh, they are $9.99 for 4 fans.

Just remember to get fans for DC power that you can plug in. Most computer fans run on ac power which is not compatable with a wall socket. I got mine from radio shack.

Im Lon 2
iused something similar to what you posted as a D.I.Y. chiller for my tank and they worked great for 3 of them for around $20.

I might stay away from http://www.windydayzz.com/ for fans. I ordered a set from them in Jan. I got a confirmation from paypal, but heard nothing from the seller. I gave them a week or two but heard nothing. I sent an email on 1/26 and never got a response. I send another email on 2/5 and got was told

"There are a few backordered that shipped yesterday, but I thought yours were shipped before then, let me check."

I gave them a week to "check" and send another email Monday but have heard nothing. Gotta love customer service!

I think I might be cancellig that order if I were you.

Out of stock is one thing but no communication is another.

I cancelled the order with my credit card company this morning and sent another email to the address listed on the website. This time Chris got right back to me, apparently the person that does his shipping & tracking messed up. Chris made up for it, the fans are being delivered free of charge. Everyone makes mistakes... we are judged by how we handle them. Thanks Chris!
