Computer programmer help in exchange for frags?

It's Dr. Goodluck Himself
Email me if you are a computer programmer. I have a script that Jose Dieck wrote for me to pull info off my Apex and shoot me an alarm under certain conditions. The program still rins but the alarm messages are not going through. So, there is a glitch and probably some editing needs to be done.

In return for fixing it I will give 5 large frags of whatever is in my tank that you desire. As others can tell you, my free frag deals in the past exclude a handful of pieces I refuse to frag. These will be available (pawalensis, bali tricolor, bottlebrush, etc) as well as any other corals I always will frag.

Hopefullythe fix will be easy but it is an all of a sudden thing.

I started also having issues with my email notifications so I did a little research and it appears GMX is having issues and no longer playing nice with Neptune. Just curious if you you're also using GMX?

I'm a bit north of you in Milwaukee, but could help you do the firmware upgrade if you'd like.

You don't need script program. Apex has built in email alarms. That you can set for pretty much anything.

Caragol I have no idea. Jduck APEX can't pull the info I need.

It is a curl program to read data off the apex and send an alarm via email when certain condition is met.

I think the code is either C# or VB, if not then may be Java Script. Joe, I will try if you email me the code in text format (I am not sure I fix it or not).

No frag need, I just want to see a code because I am a programmer.

You have me interested on what data the apex cant pull and send an alarm on

Again, the APEX can't.

Jose wrote a SEPARATE program that runs in Windows, reads info off the APEX (amp draw on DC8) and sends an alarm to me if that draw is too low (as this indicates return pump off for some reason).

Neptune does not offer this, thus the need for separate program. It worked fine until recently and still seems to run, but the alarm feature is failing.

I agree that the issue is likely with the email as that has been a problem for lots of folks lately.
If you go into the setup of the regular apex, and send a test email, does it send? If not, I'm betting that updating/fixing that will likely fix your other problem as well, unless the program isn't coded to use the apex setup email. Just having the code won't enable someone to fix that if that is the problem, and will likely lead to frustration. If you ensure email is working normally first, then a fix (if needed) will likely be quicker. I'd be happy to take a look once you ensure an email will work from the apex page. (just PM me)

I'm a computer programmer. I can help you out. Email me the program, do you have source code or is this already complied?

I should add, you can pull from the APEX its XML feed using a separate website or windows app. Have you recently upgraded the firmware of the Neptune? A software upgrade can include a new schema to their XML feed thus resulting a break between what the custom program expects to receive vs actual.

Again, the problem is NOT with Apex! I get alerts sent by the Apex!

The xml script (correct vpaul! Please email me so I can send you the programs!) runs but I am not getting the email alerts that the program is trying to send. Which is odd as Ihave had no changes to my email settings.

Again! you had me interested lol. I really did hear you the first time.

I now find it interesting that Apex is recording or has a way to measure amp draw on a DC8 or DC4 and has not taken advantage of that as a feature.

It has always (well my Apex has always) shown amp draw. On my ipad, in fact, the amps show at the top ... Eb4 and eb8 are top two "probes" and show amp use.

Glad to see someone is taking a look. If it ends up requiring a second set of eyes, shoot me a pm. Hope you find a solution.
