Condi anemone hosting clowns?

I thought that a Condilactus anemone didn't host. I reciently added a pair of clowns that have started to "host" with him instead of the green BTA. The BTA was starving when I got it and have started to feed it small portions multiple times per day. Should I discourage this(clown & condi)? Will the condi anemone eat them? Or will they go to the BTA when Its doing better?
I figure if I need to seperate them I will put a cage over the Condi anemone till they lose interest.

It is very rare (But not impossible) that clownfish will host in a condy, but if it does, theres not too much to do about it, and no, both anemones will not eat your clowns. Just be happy that they host in an anemone, which is incredibly fulfilling and fun to watch

I know the BTA wont eat them, but the condi has grabbed the smaller or the 2 clowns. The clown got away and swam to the other side. The larger female there is no question, she is way too large for the condi anemone.
I have had a clown in the tank before who was sick and the condi did eat him. As a scrap I would assume.
Therse 2 are listed as a mated pair and dont want to lose the male to the anemone.

PS I fed the anemone well today so I am going to see what happens tonight. He should be full and wont eat for a few days

My false percs hosted my condy until the nem got so big, I had to trade him in. Just remember that the condy isnt from the same area as the clowns, and there is a 50/50 chance that he will eat the fish. If I could do it over again, I wouldnt have taken the chance. Im more comfortable with them hosting my new RBTA.

Thats my question exactly. I was at work when it started. My wife called me and told me. She was scared because I told her they are from different oceans and the clowns would leave him alone.
He closes up on anything that goes into his grasp and he is very sticky. I think I am going to keep them away and when the BTA gets healthy they will go back to it. I bought the BTA anemone because they were hosting in it already.

Too late. When I got home last night they were fine. They both had been going in to the condi earlier but were leaving it alone when I got home. I dont know what happened but this morning both were dead on the bottom of the tank. Could the condi have given them a sting that had a delayed effect and killed them?

man i wish id seen this thread before anybody who allows clowns to host in a condi is just begging for disaster. they are from the atlantic ocean. no clowns from the atlantic.....

also clowns can be eaten by large mushrooms

How long did you have the clowns? Did you QT?

I could be crazy, but I suspect something other than the condy is the culprit in the death of your fish. Did you see ANY signs of illness? Rapid breathing, slime coat, spots...anything?
