That's enough bickering; it's not productive or helpful to anyone.
The watt/g rule is about 1/2 step above useless, IMO. Here's an easy example why. Let's say I have a 200W of lighting over a 40g tank. Well, that's 5W/g, so not bad. But there's one crucial piece of information missing. What kind of 40g is it? 40 long, 40 breeder, 40 high, 40 extra-high? All of those will obviously give you the same 5W/g, but the lighting effect will be significantly different for each one, especially if you're talking about distance from the surface of the water.
It's also significantly different depending on what kind of lighting you're using. 160W of fluorescent lighting (whether NO, PC, HO, or VHO) will have that light spread along the entire width of it. With MH you have essentially a pointsource. In the former, the advantage is that the animals will get a comparable amount of light whether they are at the center or the ends of the tank, which is not the case with MH. An advantage to MH is the glitter line effect, which is essentially a lens effect focusing light to give you regions with more light/area than the bulb can produce on its own.
W/g is a quick rule which gets people to ignore other important considerations with lighting.

Wolverine's post is pretty much right on.
I am not a lighting expert by any means, but for a 48" long, 16" deep tank the 4-5 watt/gal ratio works pretty well. When the tanks get bigger, they start getting deeper, that means you need more watts/gal to get the light down to the bottom of the tank. As the tanks get smaller you need more watts/gal because the smaller lights you have to use don't produce as many lumens(the measure of light intensity)per watt as do the larger bulbs.
Metal Halides are usually looked at differently. For MH you normally go 1 bulb for every 2 feet of tank and then the deeper your tank the higher the wattage of the bulb.
Perhaps others have different views.

My 55 gallon tank is about 19 inches deep with 220 watts of PC. Isn't that just borderline or would it do well? Bonzainut did sa that "They respond well to moderate lighting setups, poorer water quality, and even recover well from extensive damage" so giving that this statement is true, i could keep one right.
I also have a Sandbed of 4 inches, would that affect it? Don't they like to disturb sandbeds?

A 4 inch sand bed gets him closer to the light.
The anemone may cause your tank to go through a mini-cycle as it disturbs your sand bed. It may also release some nutrients from the sand bed that may cause a temporary algae bloom.
Next time you change your bulbs, buy 65 watt bulbs instead of 55, they run on the same ballast. With 65 watt bulbs you will have the same lighting that I have. I haven't had any trouble keeping haddoni anemones.
FWIW: I don't think Bonzainut meant that those were ideal conditions, but that haddonis tolerate these conditions better than most anemones.

Oh, so I can buy 65 watt bulbs.
I have a 220 watt 48 inch long fixture Jebo PC lighting system. I know Jebo isn't the best brand but it gets the job done.
I am also aware that those weren't the ideal conditions just what they can tolerate. That gives me more room for adjustments here and there even though I don't plan on it.
If I were to get a haddoni, I don't think it would be to much of a problem as long as it didn't crash the system.
I would in fact be more worried about eating one of my fish.
I have a Niger Trigger, Yellow Tang and a Blue Fiji Damsel. Don't carpets also eat corals if they encounter them or is that just straight up false information?

I would be worried it would eat lots of my hermits and fish. Maybe I should go with a RBTA or just a BTA as a starter. I don't want to screw anything up just yet.

Oops, I did forget one other thing it ate, a queen conch.
But to the best of my knowledge it has never eaten any crabs.
I also have 2 skunk cleaner and 3 peps shrimps that have co-existed
for 2 years now. I will watch the skunk cleaners get a antennae stuck once in awhile, but they always manage to pull it off. (intact)

IS that a carpet eating the Queen or just a pic. I can't tell what it is?
If I were to get a carpet, it would probably be a green just bc they are more common plus I like the color.

Yep, it was finishing eating it. I missed how it caught it. I came home
to that. That is the shell of the conch in its mouth. I pulled out the
shell -- completely empty.
I would love a green one. An LFS by me had two the other day. But
I don't have the room. Plus I've had mine for so long I wouldn't want to get rid of it.

Those red carpets are incredible. In my opinion those look the most stunning but then again they all do.
yea ,, shipping a carpet is not too smart... but if it has bin in someones tank. and heathy i would say go for it.. but if u are going to buy online. i would say no.. cuz , u will not know how healthy it is or how long they have had it , or the problems it may have.. they may not tell u , it came in , insideout.

If I ever come across one at a good price, I will probably get it but I am not going to go out on a search and rescue to find one. I can get the experiece on other anemones such as a BTA first.
