Conductivity Probe Survival Guide

I would bet you it is an EMI problem that is not related to your probe or PM2 module. I'll share my little store with EMI with you. I'm currently running an AC3Pro and when I first set it up, I would have random things switching on / off. I kept looking for errors in my coding but nothing seems to make sense.

After a couple of days, I was able to nail down the problem was related to my lights / ballasts. The mission was on, trying to elimate EMI problems and I have tried everything like you did. Relocating the wires / controllers / DC8 etc, nothing works. I have also shorten the length of the phone wire (signal cable) to less than 6 inches and wrapped them around aluminium foil, no luck. Finially I broke down and replaced my 2 workhorse ballasts that runs my power compacts with coralife ballasts and it fixed all the problem. It cost about $120 to replace the ballasts but it was the only fix I could ever come up with.

I have found out that the EMI from the ballast will affect my controller as far as 8-10 feet away. I suggest you to look into your lights and may be it's cheaper to replace your ballast then a new probe / pm2. Good luck.
