which conductivity solution do you use to calibrate the probe with? i used the 53.0 ms to calibrate the probe twice and after calibration reads 52.9 but after about two hours reads 40.8 my salinity is 1.025 with refractometer. am i doing something wrong or are these probes that far off? do i need to put a temperature compensation correction factor in or not if so what do i use the solution only has +-0.01ph@25'c. on the package!:( :( :(

Set the temp. compensation factor to 2.1 to 2.2 for salt water. When you change he compensation factor you'll need to recalibrate the probe. Note that there is a short hydration period for the cond. probe when first placed in water (usually 15 to 60 minutes). I would expect some drift from this, but not as big as you are seeing. Try putting in the cond. probe in a cup of your water and see if you get the same reading. We recommend that the cond. probe is mounted in a drip cup to prevent the possibility of electrical interference from stray voltage/currents in the tank.
