Confused on salts

Hey guys just a quick question on salts,


I had ordered a 50gallon bag of Seachem Reef Salt and I'v used it, it's now dissolving in my tank. But I have a question my plan is to do a Fish with liverock and eventually soft coral tank.

Was I supposed to use Seachems Marine Salt from the get go with the fish and live rock I plan on ordering? Or is it ok that I used the reef salt? I mean the bag says its ok to use with fish/inverts and liverock.

The marine salt is for fish-only setups. The reef salt should be fine for either, but will have more pH stability issues, I would guess.

Don't worry about it, reef salt just contains a higher level of some things like calcium, stuff that a fish only tank doesn't need. You'll be fine.

I suspect this reef salt also has far less borate in it than their marine salt, but I might be wrong.
