Confusing parameters according to Red Sea Coral Pro Salt...?

I guess I am confused with regard to Red Sea Coral Pro Salt and what it states.

Aren't these parameters a little high...?

Element levels at different salinities:

Salinity: 35.0 ppt (1.025)
pH: 8.2 "“ 8.4
Alk: (°dKH) 12.3 - 12.7
Ca: (mg/l) 455 - 475
Mg: (mg/l) 1360 - 1420
K: (mg/l) 390 - 410

Only Alk is high you should keep this between 8,3 / 9,3 but in a SPS reeftank Alk will drop a few points a day so this saltmix is made to help raise this up for the entire tankvolume.

If you have a tank with steady ALK at 8.0 dKH & replace 10% of the water with 12.0 dKH, overall alkalinity will only rise by .4 dKH. Not usually something to worry about. If it's a comcern but you want to stay with the brand, their blue bucket salt has much lower level of ALK.

Oh, no, I am not "worried" - from everything I have read, this is THE salt to get for reefing...

I was just confused...

Just seems to be elevated levels...

But I am sure Red Sea knows what they are doing!

Reef frog is correct but I do personally find it annoying that many of these salt brands are so high in alk when it seems the hobby is moving towards alk ranges in the 7 - 8 range. After my 200 gal of reef crystals runs out I'm moving to either Red Sea blue bucket or Tropic marine pro.

Seems like a waste to me unless you have something that will use it up. I feel bad when I read people with fowlr tanks thinking they need fancy salt. But once you have a bunch of coral going its a smart way to keep things balanced. Like, the salt will get you pretty close, and then dosing the rest of the way. I'm just cruising with regular io until my numbers start dropping, cause my tanks new. Then I'm switching to Tropic Marin cause they donated a bunch of stuff to the guy on here that does tanks at a school. I'm a sucker for kids :)

A lot of of it is prolly marketing too, I bet people pay more for the ones with higher numbers. It's any easy thing to compare by.
