We have on average 11 post per thread. That is a very high average compared to the other local reef club forums on RC. Especially for being a brand new club.

We are also members of http://masna.org
Which means with some effort amongst ourselves and the surrounding reef clubs we could possibly host MACNA in the future.

That is a big goal that is very obtainable.

One of my personal goals is to start a petition or get the ball rolling on getting St. Louis a real aquarium. I want to bring it to the attention of our city planners and local government of what it would do for St. Louis, I know all of you would enjoy one :) .

Does anyone have any long term goals they would like to see SLASH accomplish ?

we only got that 11 posts per thread, because i post so much crap.

i got like 2000 posts or something dont i?

Something I'd definately like to see is an aquarium for STL...we NEED one!

Another cool idea would be to have a "frag bank tank". After the loss of the raspberry mille recently I thought it might be a good idea for reefers to have a place to store a frag of their prized corals. As the corals grow maybe frags could be made and then sold/raffled/auctioned off to keep the tank in good working order and to raise money for the club. I think a few other clubs have done this, I know I've read threads about it somewhere, and I think it might be a cool thing to do :)

who says it is gone?
that was just one of his 2 colonys

I have one doing great but it's encrusting still. I just recently noticed there are about a dozen "bumps" where it's starting to grow vertically.

Not gone on my end as well. Most people and there close friends bank there own corals between themselves.

I wasn't trying to open a new can of worms or anything Chad, I wasn't aware that he had two colonies. I know that there are some local reefers who have the mille as well, but I was merely trying to use that as an example.

Corals stick around the area and are always available if they're big enough to sneak a frag off of. Another tank would be a lot of headache just trying to get a consensus on tank equip/maintenence/supplementation practices.

Goals other than getting Trottman and I spelling lessons.

You're forgetting Math lessons as well! :D

Nice sentiments, Steve!

FWIW, we are just a couple members shy of 50 people....not bad for a club that is only two months old!!

We are writing the book and setting the example for what a saltwater club can and should be...watch the rest follow our lead.

In the end, it is this wonderful group of people who have joined and put their faith in us that are taking us to new heights.

On a personal note, this is the first time in six years as a hobbyist that I have had a club that allowed participation by it's members on days other than weekends once a month....how refreshing!!!!

Dave :)
