Connecting AC3 to network

Is it possible to connect an AC3 to a wireless network?

I was thinking of connecting a Linsys WUSB11 to the AC3 would this work?

Thanks,

Brian

What would work? I haven't purchased any wireless adapters for the AC3 yet.

I have a Linksys wireless router presently and was hoping to stay with this brand.

I am using the WET54G but I can't recommend it. It drops connection and is just not reliable enough. I have it on a timer that resets the power evey 12 hours so it stays connected. I am hoping for a firmware fix.

Others have used the wireless gaming adapter, WGA54G but I have no experience with that model.

The WUSB11 wil not work becuase the AC3 doesn't have a USB port.

I use dlink wireless bridge connected to a NetGear router. I dont have as many problems as I used to have when I used Linksys.

In the process of setting up the AC3 now. I have the Linksys WGA54G standing by. Plan on trying to get the network up tomorrow. With any luck I will be able to get everything working this weekend.

Not sure how to get access to it through the WWW. Or how to do remote notification of alarms. That's a project for tomorrow.

If you have a dynamic IP address, you will need to use a free service like dynDNS to keep track of your changing IP. The LinkSYS router has a feature to update dynDNS once you establish your account.

Once setup, you hit the dynDNS pointer with something like www.Brian146.getmyip.com and it will push you over to your router. From your outer, you port forward to the AC3. This is all pretty easy if your ISP doesn't block Port 80 access. If it does, take a look at canyouseeme.org to check for an open port.

For alarm notifications, you setup a dummy timer like ALM and set ALM as the notification timer at the controller. Then you can use things like;

If Temp > 81.5 Then ALM ON

This piece will send you an update at noon every day.
If Time > 12:00 Then ALM ON
If Time < 12:01 Then ALM OFF

I have a linksys wga54ga game adapter and I can get to it throught the wireless net work...but I can't see the AC3 through it....is there additional programing that needs to be done?

Setting up the game controller was pretty straight forward. Did you set up the network addressing for the Aqua controller?

Try pinging the Aqua Controller from your PC.

Thanks
I was able to get it working perfectly great wireless connection.
I just needed to change the IP address to be within the address range that my firewall would allow.

thanks
