Connetquot Class Tank

3 reefers in one building! I get ripped on for being the "fish geek" in my building and it is probably twice the size of yours. Anything I can do for the tank, let me know.

even though i teach italian, i tell all my students about it, i even brought in some pix:D

they understand soon as they see the pix

Ok maybe I can't see very well, but are you sure those are Majanos? They look like aiptasia to me. Either way you can start nuking them with KOH or some other strong base.

What help do you need?

def not aiptasia. We did go in with some kalk and start to kill them off, but we didn't want too much die off at once, and it grew back with a veangence. We might try to cut as much out as we can with a razor blade, then try to nuke the base so it wont grow back.

I'll have some softies for you at some point, yuma, rics, frillys, an rbta, plus a million of those quarter sized multi-color anemones of which you gave me one years ago. i am overgrown with this stuff but cant get them out - I'm thinking about kalking em. :)

As for the rock you have, I'd seriously contemplate cooking it. Get the shrooms off and sell em, and cook the majanos to oblivion.

Can I bring you the macro this friday to the mtg??
I also have some frags for this fri unless you want to pick up sooner
Toadstool
green cap
green branching monti
anthella
elkhorn
green hydno
moon polyps on a rock
yellow polyps

A huge thanks to Eric for donating frags, i picked them up last night and they look awesome. I'm going to get them into the tank as soon as i can.

We are also looking for a 30L to use as a sump if anyone has one laying around it would be a huge help. We want to add some baffles so we can get the new skimmer going and get the fuge going.

We decided to bite the bullet and just pay for some float switches and a relay so i can make an ATO. If anyone has an aqualifter or simlar pump laying around that they could donate it would be a huge help. Over school vacations the water level in the sump can get dangerously low so we really want to get something in there.

Everyone has been so great with donations so far and we really appreciate it. As you all know, keeping a reef tank going with little to no money isn't easy and your all making it possible.

Awesome, thanks Bob (how's that rbta doin by the way?)

Eric, sorry i never got back to you. Just started a leave replacement at the middle school and been really busy. Scott told me about your donation and we are extremely grateful.

We are currently exploring a few different options that have great promise. Ideas have gone above what we were expecting so our thought process is constantly changing.

Thanks to all who have helped!

We received a very generous donation of LR, a few corals, and a cb shrimp from Dave (dnsheavy) today. So a big thank you goes out to him for his generosity and for taking the time to talk with us about other possibilities.

Thank you to Gregg (greggnyce) for helping us out as well!

Eric - still working on that list you requested. Harder than i thought seeing as that we kinda just figured we'd work with what we got :) i'll have it to you soon though. thanks

How about a 30G breeder or a 40 breeder? I will need to get rid of one, both are drilled and I can leave it with Chris.

Need any pumps? I lost count at 15 pumps today, ranges from 6,000GPH to 500GPH, internal and external.

Wished Chris would mentioned this to me few weeks ago when he was here to raid my tanks of fish and coral :D.

funny how he forgot that huh?
we could definitely use the 40, or the 30 for that matter. We need a pump for the skimmer that pushes 500-700 gph(mag was recommended). We would like to replace the return pump (its a rio), and are willing to take any donations, even if we cannot use them, to sell for fund raising. And any in tank circulation pumps would help too! Thanks Pierce!
