I have a 90g (sorta) FOWLR thats about 6 months now (cycled). I do have a few shrooms around for color and I do have a Condy and a maxi mini nem. They have been very healthy and active in my tank. My maxi mini has already split a few times. I think I am ready to add a host nem for my pair of O clowns. I can read on it all day, but what have you guys experienced???
1. What kind of nem?
2. What do I look for?
3. Size???

What are your current parameters -- with numbers
What lights do you have?
Do you have a sandbed, if so how deep?

nitrites...0
nitrates...5
amm.......0
ph..........7.8
calcium...430

lights are 180 w's of T5's and I do have a sandbed about 2-3"
My existing nems are doing well, but I uderstand they're a little easier than BTA's.

and which clowns do you have ? I would always try to provide a natural host as sometimes clowns don't recognise non natural hosts and stay away.

Here he is.... placed him relatively low and we'll see how he roams.

Do you mean to say you have 108w of T5? Assuming your tank is a standard 90 and you are using 54w bulbs then 180 is not an option. If you only have 108w over that tank you will not be able to keep a BTA healthy.

Lemme clarify my lighting. I have a 4 bulb T5 216w's Current fixture. I also have a 2 bulb GLO light as well. Total about 324 watts. I am kinda guessing.

Hahah, well that's a heck of a jump from the 180 you mentioned before. You should be good on the lighting for a BTA at least.

Sorry about the confusion. I am new to the lighting thing being important. $ bulbs are 10k and the other 2 are actinic. Is that sufficient?

6 54w bulbs over a 90g should be fine but don't be surprised if the anemone goes walking up to the top of your rockwork if the fixtures have low end reflectors or the bulbs are low end bulbs.

The anemone should be fine though.
