Considering First Anemone

I am considering purchasing my first anemone and I am looking for some help form some experts before I go off and kill it.

I am a newbie when it comes to anemones, but I have had my nano-reef set up for over 3 years and it has always been very healthy. It has a 70W 14k light over it and it is only 10 gallons.

I know it is small and I want some feedback regarding the best anemone (if any). I have a good amount of sand space so I was considering a Sebae. alternatively, I read the several people have good luck with BTA's in nano's. As with any nano, pruning is required regularly as well as spot feeding in order to prevent excess food from decomposing. Also, I've always been good with water changes. This tank is mixed in terms of live stock, containing:

Blastos
Acans
Rics
Zoas (small amount and I recetnyl got rid of most of my Zoas)
Pocillipora
Yellow Fiji Leather

There are no fish in this tank.

I've done some reading with conflicting answers, so I am here hoping you all can help.

Any thoughts?

Sorry but your tank is to small with all of those corals in there to host a BTA. You could try a Rock flower anemone.

A small BTA maybe but I can guess there would be some issues with it stinging corals, especially if it isn't happy where it's placed initially and decided to go for a walk.

Sebae anemones are known to get fairly large (somewhere around 1' 8"), which could again cause issues with other corals in your tank.

A BTA will easily outgrow a 10 gallon. I wouldn't consider it. I would either get a bigger tank for an anemone or consider getting a rock flower anemone for your nano. There's not many options with your setup.

I agree with 55semireef, 10g=death to nem. A flower nem would work, however. Her's a pic of one of mine:

This one is white, but also have an orange and a green. They are about 3 yrs old and about 4" in diameter.

Yep, BTA's would not work. Even a small one can grow over an inch a week. Mine reached 7+" from 1-2" within two months. My suggestion is to get a bigger tank...10G even for nem only would be a little small.

Thanks for all of the advice.

A bigger tank is not really an option for me. I like it small, at least that's what I tell my wife.

I'll have to look into the rock anemones, the one that Zoomfish posted s actually kind of nice (among the nicest I have seen during my 5 minute search).
