Container safe for temporary use?

I am upgrading tanks and doing the switch this weekend. I have a couple of the rubbermade brute trash cans that i am going to drain the tank and put rock in one and fish in other. I was thinking of getting a rubbermaid or something like it storage bin, say 10 -20 gallon to put the coral in so it will be easier to handle in a smaller container. Would one of these be safe for tempoary use or do some have chemicals i should look out for? It would be used for maybe 2 hours or so. thank you

fine as long as you rinse it out before use, possibly use some vinegar in the rinse to help clean it good. I have even seen them used to make home made sumps and fuges at times.

yup. I use one for qt no problems.
I did air it out in the yard for a few days with the top off until the plastic smell was gone, that's just me being paranoid though. if you can find one with wheels its even better, though the water weight makes the bottom drag a little.
