Continuous duty Peristaltic Pump

Thanks to everyone! What a great community we have here.... It's because of everyone's input that I have been successful the past years. Every time I buy new equipment I am confident based on people's experience.

I will order tubing and make choices based on the feedback....

:)

I am sure I could stretch it out for 6 months as well but I work out of state 10 days at a time twice a month. Its like a few bucks a foot. Am I really that crazy for changing it out as part of my regular maintenance in order to be sure I have fresh tubing?

I think risking running the same tube for 6 months is crazy when were talking about 5 bucks a year vs 10. And no 2 heads is not a waste. They are cheap.

I don't disagree. just don't think it's necessary. I have like 8 heads laying around and have never felt inclined to run them stacked. I have stacked heads for auto water changes.

whatever you decide to; you are making the right decision going with a cole Parmer pump. they are bullet proof.

Thanks....

I also did order a brand new digital drive with an easy load 2 ss, direct from Cole Parmer..... I really like how the new system is 100% electronic and very quiet, with the brushless motors. Should be able to dial in my ca reactor perfectly.

I am going to use the eBay one as my ato pump.

They sent me 3 feet of 18 as sample with my new pump.... That should help.... I'm going to order from us plastics as well...

Thanks for everyone's help....

Thanks I will post a picture today. They overnighted it to me under a here today, there tomorrow shipping promotion.

I'm pretty excited about it although they don't really wheel and deal much. Excellent customer service and very knowledgeable tech staff.

I was going to get an easy load three but the tech told me the 2 with the 4 stainless steel rollers is still the best seller. Told me the threes are very plasticky and have lost the durability... I'm adding this information to this post as someday this knowledge may help someone else.

No worries. Dang man, nice pump. I'm Jelous :)

Just for you....... The first few revolutions she ever made... This drive is dead silent.... You could run it in a bedroom.

Better take that to work with you tomorrow. I am going to be hiding in the bushes!!! ;)

Very awesome! You won't be disappointed. One of the things I have found amazing over the years is the helpful staff. They don't care how old the pump is, they will help you till the end. Doubt you will ever have to replace that pump.

Put it on an UPS. Last thing you want is a power surge hurting her. Power strips are not good enough. Get some filtered power on it. I run my digital on a nice true sine wave OPTI-UPS similar to this one http://store.opti-ups.com/Product/Item.aspx?id=196. It filters all power in. I also run my Vortechs and ReefAngel through it. I am always for protecting expensive equipment.

I will look into that. Would I not be better off just getting a whole home power conditioner? I am going to be hooking up a Generac very soon so I know clean power is important.

I can't thank you enough for all your help. Hopefully someday this thread will help someone else as much as its helped me.

If you have a lot of high end electronics it could be a good idea. They generally cover several thousands in damage and homeowners should cover anything over that. I have seen entire houses knocked out with lightning. Home owners would cover stuff but what it cant cover is the hassle of replacing everything electronic in the house.

I use a 500kva and 40kva generator at work. The equipment we are running is designed to be run on that type of power but it can be hell on sensitive electronics. I have already had a couple computer monitors die in a short amount of time. The rest of the computers have their own filtering but the monitors don't... yet.

Glad I could help! Good to know about the new heads. The easyload 2 head has been nothing but reliable. For comparison though I am sure the easyload 3 is still many times better then anything in the aquarium industry. You couldn't give me most of them after getting used to a CP.

Keep us posted :)

Hey... which LS model and head is this?

I am going to WAR with my calcium reactor this month... to get it to do what I want without tinkering with it every two days. I think this is a good starting point.

(I know how much these pumps cost... so no comments about that needed)

Wow....what a nice looking pump. Thinking of going back to calcium reactors and a peristaltic is a must IMO. The only problems I have ever had with reactors are almost 100% effluent -flow realted.

How is this pump working for you?
