I have read where some are using a 2 way dosing pump for a continuous water change. Does this work OK? I like the idea if it has been tested to work well. Any feedback???
I know Randy from the Chemistry Forum had a continuous water change setup but I don't remember what pump he used. Might do a search and see what you come up with.
I would think if the exchange is atleast 10 % per week ,mb a little more. But testing all perms, would tell you better if this works. The change is for amonia removle and the adding of fresh salt which contains trace elements to support your reef tank or fish only tank.GL
I've been working on a system that does continous water changes, and also mixes the salt for you from a RO/DI unit. It's completely self automated and the only thing that I will have to do is refill the salt reservoir.

What I do is very wet skim and top off from a premixed new salt water container to the sump with a Kent float valve. The container is topped off with RO water and I just add salt to the container every week or so depending on the salinity of the tank. It would be nice to have my skimmer waste go direct to drain but it goes to a three gallon container that overflows to the sump if I forget to empty it or if the skimmer goes crazy. The RO top off to the pre-mix container is set to a slow drip through a float valve as a safety precaution.
