Controller options

I don't know how I got along without this thing. I have it controlling my lights, moonlight, kalk mixing, topoff water solenoid, heaters, fans, CO2 in calcium reactor, and return pump. I have the DC8 just about maxed out and three X10 modules. I didn't think I would ever figure it out at first but I am getting pretty proficient with programming now. Now if I could just figure out how to make a webpage and put it up on it so I could check on the tank while away.

Nice! I'm not sure how to do the web stuff -- but I think you just access your ACIII directly via a web browser if you are at home, and if you want to do it over the internet, you'll have to have a static ip, and use your NAT table on your DSL/Cable router to point to the ACIII. Something like that, anyway...

Getting ready to order an ACIII, too. The 180 purchase of last year is still biting me... First the chiller needed more money to get it to work after I got it (replaced fan, etc.), now the display has gone out, so I'm hoping it's just the controller part. Gotta love used equipment. I'm hoping I can figure out how to wire the chiller so the ACIII can make it work... Sounds like I need to get a DC4 and a DC8. Going through reef geek, too, because they have the cheapest price. I can't believe I found a range of $399-$599 on the same unit at the different sites that carry it...

Sweet! You'll love it. I finally figured out how to get it online and had Annette turn on and off my lights from her work yesterday. It was cool. Gotta love gadgets.

I have learned a lot in the last couple of weeks....and learned I don't know anything about computers anymore.

You mean the aquanotes? You can download the free version. I really haven't found a need for the full version myself. I usually just pull up the web page for most stuff.
