controller Question

I'm still in the twentieth century and using Harbor Freight timers. I'm using four of them for lighting, moonlight and a CO2 controller.

Question... when using the controller where do you plug the things in?

Do you mean a controller like a RKE or Neptune? If so they have power bars that you plug into. They look like a regular power strip except they connect to the controller through a bus, ( on the RKE anyway). I am not sure how the others connect, but I'm sure its similar.

My RK2 has a 8 plug powerstrip(DC8) that when connected to the headunit of the controller allows you to program each channel on its own..

So the RK2 each of the outlets is controlled separately then. The only problem I see is getting things plugged in that have the plug attached to the transformer. I always have that same problem with regular power strips. IIRC my moonlights (x's 2), my CO2 controller and fan are that way.

I think the only two things that plug in and not on timers on this tank are the two filters and the heater. lol

It operates as 8 different channels. Each can be selected to do a certain task based on what it is.. Light,Sump,Skimmer,Wavemaker.. From there it brings up other option based on what it is.. example: Select Lights, then it ask if they are Metal Halide or other, Select MH and it will bring up the timer menu, then power off at certain temp.. Things like that..

They dont make RK2's anymore but DA makes newer controllers that do the same and more..

NB... thanks again. That helps. Not sure I really need any functions other than the timers for various things.

Thats what I thought also.. "I will never need a controller since I dont have this or that" Now that I have one.. I wonder how I got by with out one... They make things so much simpler for me.. On spot pH and temp at all times.. Wavemaker function, Temp control, I can shut down all pumps and skimmer while I feed for maximum contact with fish and corals...
