controllers RKL or RKE

Hi guys,

So I'm wondering if I need a reef keeper lite or an elite. I know the RKE is all whizz-bangy and stuff, but do I need all of that. My AIs will have their own fancy controller so I'm thinking maybe the RKL...

You people are making it difficult. I keep trying to justify a controller. In reality I don't need one, I want one. I have timers, switches, wave maker, doser, ect. I wish I would have forgone all that crap in the beginning and bought a controller. I didnt and most likely spent as much on a less efficient cluster ($&@&$ of wires and boxes. It works though and a controller would realalistically only ad a ph probe, alarms, and remote monitoring. I want to need one.

Considering I'm dropping a bunch of $$$ on lights and a skimmer (hopefully - the guy has not gotten back to me), I need to go for need and not as much for want. The RKL it is.

But, is the remote monitoring a good idea? It would be cool to be able to get a notification if something went horribly wrong in time to avoid catastrophe.

Half of the reason I want one is remote monitoring.
I wonder if I could set a fluid level sensor in the skimmer cup to cut the power if it starts to overflow

Check out the skimmate lockers from Avast. They have a sensor to cut off your skimmer in such an event. I have one, they work great.
