Controllers

I believe Controllers are of the devil.

But saying that I am looking for a controller for my Bio-Cube tank.

Which do you think is the EASIEST to set up and use? I have an Apex right now on my 155 that I am not using because I cant figure the dumb thing out.

Give me a break I am a Pastor not a rocket Scientist. :fun4:

Makes reefing easier. A controller can manage temp, lights, power heads, pumps, filters, etc. They're really good for controlling ATO pumps and dosing pumps.

Everyone uses theirs a little differently outside of the basic turning on and off of equipment. Some have alerts built in to notify via email if something's wrong. Some use them to control water changes. It's really up to you. Overall, it just automates much of the work.

I have an Apex (full) and AquaController JR. (ACjr) and I have to say I found the ACjr much easier to program than the Apex. Granted I can do tons of more stuff with the Apex and it already has a built-in web interface, but I think stepping through the ACjr to program it was much easier. That being said, if you're interested in one, I just pulled one from a tank at work ;)

The vendor websites have programming directions plus if you do a search you will find a lot of information on programmimg

Pastor, I have the Apex Jr. and have expanded it with an extra ph probe for the calcium reactor and have plugged in a DC8 so just about everything is plugged in. Also, do you have the display for the Apex. It makes setting up so much easier, before I had one I had to hook it up to my router (wireless) to run on the PC laptop, or you can plug it straight in I think. If you have a MAC good luck. I tried with no avail. I thought setting up was pretty straight forward, although it took a bit to get the hang of it. It is just a little overwhelming at first with all the options. Most of the advanced options I don't even use, just the essentials. Just pray for a little more patients, you'll get it. I have faith.

Good luck!!

Go to youtube and search apex programming. They take you through it step buy step. Apex is the best IMO.

Which controller do u have available?

They are supposed to be Mac compatible, I must have the wrong directions or something but it was so much easier running it through the Pc laptop. Then again I'm not that big of a tech freak. But hey Pastor, if you don't have a display. There is someone selling one for an Apex for a good price. You can program the unit with it and is so much easier than setting up through a computer, worth the asking price.
