Controlling Kenya population with Pavona

Hi, I wanted to ask. I am transitioning my tank from mostly softy to LPS and I need to remove a few 2" kenya tree sprouts that are taking up prime real estate, I want to use. I have a loose frag of Pavona, which I have been told can kill just about anything. Can I place the pavona on top of the Kenya tree sprouts to get rid of them or will that cause the Kenya tree to release too much toxins into the water?

My original plan was to slice off the stem as close to the rock as possible, but that would still leave the stumps to bleed toxins and eventually re-grow.

Kenya trees are actually quite easy to pull from the rocks if you can get a good grip. You might want to try that first, but make sure your not going to dislodge the rock it's on and have your entire reef structure come tumbling down. Another option is to cut it as close to the base as you can and then smother any remaining tissue with some epoxy. GL.
