Convert drivers on DIY LEDs

I built my own leds several years ago and when I built them I used meanwell ELN-60-48D drivers which are an abolish driver. I would like to switch to a PWM driver but not sure what the requirements would be to do that. Would it be just ordering new drivers and hooking them up or would I have retire them?

You can easily switch to another ac/dc driver like the ELN D with the same specs but ones that allow PWM dimming..
Besides the PWM version of the ELN (ends in P instead of D) the LPF series is one I've used when I needed PWM.
LPF-60D-48 and done..
Plenty of others to choose from too..

OF course nothing wrong with the ELN you already have.. Just need to control it with 1-10v analog which some controllers support just fine.. even an adapter can be made/bought for allowing PWM only controllers

I have a dimming controller that will allow either style drivers. From what I’ve read and understand the PWM drivers will ramp up from 0 where the smoking doesn’t kick on until it hits 10. Also the lightning effect with the anolog drivers isn’t instantaneous, when the driver goes to zero it takes a second for the lights to actually turn off. From what I’ve seen with the PWM drivers they have a much faster response time. Am I correct on this? I’m having an issue with one set of leds and I was figuring if it’s a driver issue then I would look into some PWM drivers.

Not exactly
Most will only dim to 10% then off....
ELn's (all), LPF's both behave that way AFAICT..

Easiest way (relatively speaking) is to go to 5V PWM.. most dim all the way to zero..

What is your controller capable of?

Conversion gets annoyingly complicated..

That was going to be my question, we really need to know the output of the controller you're hoping to use before suggesting drivers.

It may also be the case that the driver you have now works just fine on a PWM signal. Again, depending on the controller you're using.
