Converting 55g

So I recently sold a bunch of livestock (coral and fish) and now all I have in my 55 long (up and running since July, no crashes) is a longnose hawkfish and some kenya tree coral. I'd love to have a pair or two of H. erectus and/or H. reidi.

What are some good corals for seahorse tanks?

Can you mix species or is that not recommended?

I'd be putting my hawkfish into my empty 30 gal I set up in November. It finished cycling and I never decided what to do with it. :hmm3: So it can easily become my hawkfish's home.

:reading:

Edit: Forgot to mention my overactive and resident cleptomaniac tuxedo urchin is also in my 55. Would it be a problem?

Mixing species is not recommended. If you do, get them from the same breeder so the likelihood of pathogen transfer causing problems is minimal.
Urchins are also not recommended.
For tankmates, see one of the links at the bottom of "My Thoughts on Seahorse Keeping"

Thanks for the great resource, rayjay. Looking forward to reading all those articles! For whatever reason seahorse.org isn't working for me...I can see the index page but none of the links work.

I think you have to register first at the org to be able to view most of it.
Once you register it can take sometimes days before it is accepted unfortunately, but IMO, it's worthwhile.
