Cooking lobster

Some lobster recipes recommend cooking them in seawater for best flavor.

Would some freshly mixed aquarium water work?

I tried that with a crab once. It tasted kind of weird - real seawater tastes different from salt mix.

You should be OK just using table salt.

cook it in 50% water, 50% sprite/7up and cut 2-4 lemons in half and put it in the pot (depending on volume and amount of lobsters)

Lol...

Out of curiosity why are you asking on this forum? (Don't wana sound like I am being a smart a**) Just wondered if you have one in your tank you are mad at lol or just thought it a convenient place to ask?

Haha sorry that is kind of a funny question in this forum. Anyways, I'm not sure you'd want all those extra trace minerals going into your body like the elevated calcium, magnesium, iodine etc.

I think it's best going with just plain iodized salt too :) And as FishyNut says, DON'T overcook!!
