"cooking" new liverock?

i'm planning on going BB in my next tank. i am wondering if i can just do the cooking process with the 20lbs of liverock i get., instead of cycling the tank, and going through the trouble of waiting a month to do it. i know how the cooking process works, which is why i'd like to get the jump on it.

any input would be great.

Sounds like you have a good plan. I did something similar, I cooked my rock along with some base rock. When I was done the base rock was seeded and the live rock still had coralline and came out great. Good luck and post your results.
