Cool coral growth pics

Just looking through some old pictures and came across a picture from June 7, 2009 of my original 12g nano cube. Figure I would share it with the world.

The hammer coral in the top right corner was just one or two heads at that point. Also you will see my leather at the top center.

This is it in august of 2011 still in the same 12g just before it got moved into my 100g.

Here is it now, along with the same leather to the left of it.

This is at night so you can get an idea on how many heads it has now.

Holy cow that's a lot of growth in just 2 years. Would be nice if you would share your tank parameters as well as any dosing you might do to help others in getting that kind of growth. Amazing and Beautiful, thanks for sharing!

2 years? The first pic was June 2009, it is September 2015. That's 6 and a half years of growth. There is no magic to make corals grow fast, just patience. I will say that growth definitely accelerated once it was moved from a 12 gallon to a 100 gallon tank. I'll post some info on my tank setup when I have some more time.

Wow impressive growth :)

Thanks, don't think I did anything special. Hammer coral and leather are pretty easy to keep alive. Just time and patience. I have a pile of dead sps frags to keep reminding me I have yet to become a master reef keeper.

are you saying...ok that's enough.....stop already !!!

Yes it has reached that point. It has grown up and out of the water, and at a little over a foot it takes up quite a lot of real estate. At the same time it was one of my very first corals and can't part with it.
