Cool fishes

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on cool colourful reef fish for a small saltwater aquarium. We just set up a 120 litre tank and need some cool interesting fish for it.

I like clownfish a lot to choose from snowflakes, black and whites, maroons, a bunch of different kinds, shapes, and colors. Plus a really hardy fish. Good luck! :)

A pair of clownfish in an anemone would always make my list.

When it comes to color, especially blue or even metallic blue, nothing beats damsels. And especially the metallic blue are not too aggressive.

Shrimp gobies with pistols shrimps are interesting, though they can get a bit shy if the other fish in the tank are too active.

Thanks we already have a pair of clown fish and they deffinetally are cool and have great personalities

Assessors have a lot of personality. So do Possum wrasses and Cryptic Wrasses

+1 on this. I have a Cryptic Wrasse and he is awesome. My pair of skunk clowns are total haters in the tank. But no one messes with the cryptic wrasse. He slowly swims around the tank feeding on nooks and crannys. I cannot recommend a fish more than a Cryptic Wrasse and another favorite a Priolepis Goby.

Clownfish, wrasse and blenny are always a must have fish for me. In a 30 gallon tank like yours, I would go with a Frostbite or Picasso clownfish pair, yellow assessor and a tailspot blenny...and possibly a possum wrasse if your filtration is good.

CoralsAddiction is that really your peppermint angelfish? I agree with posts above about sorting out what happened before adding more. After you do others replied with excellent suggestions.

Haha. Not mine. Took the picture at Waikiki Aquarium. They have one there.

We are we will pro all wait 3-4 weeks just in case it was a parasite but whilst we wait we can't help to think about what fish might be good to get

3-4 weeks is less than half the time you need to run fallow. 10+ weeks is what your more realistically looking at. Get a 40 liter, cycle it and use it as a QT system. You can run a QT with minimum equipment.

I love clowns which you already have, and wrasses always add a spice to the tank. One of my favorite for reef tanks is fairy wrasses, there are tons of different types with different color combinations but they all only from to a couple inches in length and are 100% reef safe, super docile, extremely hardy, good eaters, and very active. Many gobies are good choices also
