I would think that this would be made out of scrap material?

A lot of our scrap at work is 1/4" and thicker....I have to dig around a bit.....
A lot of suppliers will sell you their drops for cheap.

Ah, I just though scrap would save money but 1/8 material doesn't cost all that much does it?

Depends if you use lexan or acrylic...
The price of plastic has gone up as well as the price of steel....both aren't as cheap as they used to be.....thank China for that.
