I know a lot of people strive for the natural look, but I had an idea about live rock in the shape of recognizable buildings like the empire state building.
Kind of like this (Stonehenge xD) except more cultured and marine appropriate.
I love to see weird & off beat ideas although I wouldn't do that for a main reef tank at home. But it is fun to think about what can be done.
The idea of buildings or smaller scale scenes using objects like pottery or sculpture can be interesting too. Lots of good ideas are out there from the planted freshwater world too. A huge tank city scape of NYC could be awesome.
I've decided to try it. Im going to create Big Ben, the London bell tower out of dry rock then cultivate it into a coralline algae covered piece of live rock. Using chisels and dremel stone bits. Debating on whether to make it out of porous lime stone or a marine pure 8x8x4 block.
