Well, that's one way to get a meal! I'm surprised it jumped all the way out, looked like it had to wrestle to get the crab back into the water.
 
Yeah, pretty wild. I always thought an Octopus can't be out of water, even for that amount of time.

I'll try to find it but there was an aquarium that reported a story once. They were continually losing fish in a tank and couldn't explain it or find what was eating them. They put up cameras when it became obvious something serious was happening. They found an octopus was crawling out of one exhibit, into the other and taking some meals.
 
How can it get through the exoskeleton? I know Octupii have a beak-like structure; can that penetrate the shell?
