Cooperband butterfly experiences?

Hey guys I'm looking on getting one soon but I'm doing my research first :) my fish population in my 120 reef: 2 yellows tail damsels, yellow watchman goby, tail spot blennie, purple pseudocromis, starry blennie, 2 clowns, 1 black clown, mandarine & Yellow tang. Corals SPS, soft, clams, LPS, etc. and a bunch of aptaisia :)

Corals SPS, soft, clams, LPS, etc. and a bunch of aptaisia

had the same as above. Added the copperband, and no i see very little aptaisia! i have seen no issues to the corals from my fish.

CBBs tend to enjoy fresh clams, even LPS in many cases. If you can find a healthy CBB that is eating in the store (don't buy one that you don't see eating prepared foods), and you can get it back out in the case that it eats your stuff, try it.
If you think it would be hard to catch him once in your tank, I recommend Peppermint shrimp for your Aiptasia.

I have had great success with my Indonesian CBB he eats quite a variety of prepared foods, even picks at some meaty peelet foods. No aptasia present in my tank anymore and is a very peaceful fish. I do make sure to feed regular and keepa watchful eye on him for nipping at corals. So far so good. Peppermints will also work will as long as there is nothing else to intimidate them. Also some will eat the aptasia and others won't go near it. Hope this helps

my cbb does great in with most of my corals. We did find chalices were a treat for him so we had to move chalices to another tank. Otherwise as long as he is fed no nipping at my clams goes on. He is a really cool fish and will devour aiptasia from my hands like it was a doggy biscuit.

we could not keep a copper band have went through 4. within exactly of 1week of putting it in the tank they literally disappeared,it happened all 4 times so I give up and am using joes juice so far so good

If you're looking to explore a more reef friendly fish that I have heard has a reputation of being easier to keep and more hardy try out the pyramid butterflyfish. They have shorter snouts and are more prone to accepting mysis and doing well on that kind of diet than needing worms and what not like the CBBs

Thanks for all the input, I'm not getting the fish just to eat aptaisia, I use kalk to melt them regularly, I just like the fish. Also do you guys think I'll have a problem with my yellow tang, it's about 3 1/2" - 4". Also I'm planning on QT the fish.

i think you may have some aggression issues from the yellow tang, the copperband has alot of yellow in it so the yellow may be more likely to pick on the copperband. I have a semi-juvi chocolate tang (mostly yellow for now) and I have tried a copperband with him twice, and he has killed it each time. I will be getting rid of him so i can eventually have a copperband, from what i know for sucess with copperbands is a smooth transition into the tank allowing it time to get settled in and not harassed.
