Copepods Question

Hi Guys,

Brand new tank. A little over week into the cycle.

What are your thoughts with adding Copepods to the tank after the cycle is completed for a month or so before introducing fish?

Unless you have a specialized feeder, I wouldn't worry about those "bugs."

Don't get me wrong though I get the fascination, but that where's off in time... (compromised?)

The plan is to seed and feed with AlgaeBarn's 5280 Pods Three Species Mix Live Copepods and OceanMagik Live Phytoplankton.

i say go for it soon... the phyto will feed your new live rock, eat any crazy nutes and the pods can handle much more chemical abuse than any fish... and without any fish in there to eat them, the pod population will grow....
big drawback to using live planktons is hydroids.... you will get them multiplying as well......i personally like hydroids, their populations stabilize, they fill in the gaps and give your reef that 'reef' look... unless you plan on keeping sps, don't fggn worry...

My tank is still cycling. Week 3. These are the current parameters.

Ammonia - 0.01 ppm
Nitrite - 0.2 ppm
Nitrate - 3 ppm
Alkalinity - 8.2
Phosphate - 0.09 ppm

Wait until Ammonia and Nitrite are 0 before adding the pods and phyto?
