if a freshwater tank has had copper used in it and you clean it, is it possible to use it as a reef, or is the tank ruined as far reef use?

I would say you could use it as long as it is clean!!

I would runit for a week or 2 with just RO water

yeah it needs to be cleaned really well, bleach very diluted and then cleaned

2nd what homereef said good tips in the chem forum

Clean with bleach, then rinse with RO, then clean with white vinagar, then comes the RO again... Rinse, Rinse, Rince. Very time consuming, but if the tank is nice then I guess it's worth it.
