hey everyone.

I have two clowns and a baby tang in my 29 gallon tank that i just bought. i have seen some white spots on one of the clown but then i looked again and it was gone. the tang is occasionally scretching onto my mag-float(not sure if its because it feels good). I wanted to treat them just in case they had the parasite ich. I was reading in the website MOFIB, were many advanced aquarist go to and read a thread that said that copper affected their broodstock in a negative way after he had to treat them for ich. so is it true does copper really affect the immune system of fish?

also, can you also provide some info on quaranting fish. should i just treat it for ich? or do u guys also quaratine the fish for other diseases.

thanks, :frog::thumbsup:

People probably aren't answering because most of your questions have been asked and answered 1000 times on this forum. In your PM's yesterday you indicated that you had already lost a fish to Ich in this tank and now others are showing sign of the parasite. Also, as I said yesterday, white spots going away doesn't mean ich is gone and scratching is a bad sign. I haven't heard of copper affecting fertility in fish but it very well may because it is toxic to them. If you are that worried about copper affecting your fish why not just quarantine them and treat with hyposalinity and formalin dips. Over the course of about 2 months your fish will be cured in a hyposalinity hospital tank and your display will be free of parasites due to lack of hosts.
