Can copper treatments cause servere fin rot?

There are some articles which suggest copper can suppress the immune system .. which in turn may make the fish more susceptible to some diseases such as fin rot. Other than that I know of no direct connection between the two.

If the fish is in QT you may consider using an antibiotic while your giving your copper treatment .. just keep a close eye on water quality.

I didnt think you could run both copper and antibiotics. If so can you suggest what two.

There is nothing wrong with using copper and antibiotics at the same time. Maracyn 2 is readily available and is effective for most minor bacterial issues.

I use Cupramine copper and Maracyn 2 all the time. As Kevin stated there is nothing wrong with it.
