Does copper kill live rock?

It will destroy the tiny inverts that may be living on it and make it unuseable in a reef tank.

Unuseable due to the fact that live rock absorbs copper and the copper will continue to leach inot your tank for years, killing all inverts.

Does Ick-X effect your tank and is its effectiveness worth it? Right now I have a fish only tank, but I may want to get Inverts someday.
