who has had one for more than 1 year?
did/do they pick at your corals/clams? and if so what corals
i want to buy one but i am a little scared. i use to have one that i purchased at bluezoo and it only ate frozen clam. and it use to pick at my candy cane coral. this time if i buy another one i plan on getting it at a website that says it is reef safe. which i found a couple of websites already

Well, they may list as reefsafe, but those still won't be safe for ALL reef inhabitants.
Expect any feather dusters to be gone, and that includes things like coco worms.
Not sure on clams.
But really the biggest challenge is getting one that will eat prep'd foods.

I agree with davocean. They may or may not be reef safe (depends on the fish), they may or may not eat aiptasia, and in fact may or may not eat at all. Black worms are the best option if they are picky.,

My coco vanished, as all my tiny feathers, but my huge aptasia issue also vanished, and my CBB eats prep'd food like crazy, so I'm over it.

I am interested on the reef safeness also. I can live without dusters but do value my clams and other corals. How are they with shrimp?

They won't bother shrimp, unless the shrimp are really really tiny. Normal cleaners and peppermints will be fine.

I had one for a solid 2 months, fat n happy, then woke up one morning to find him dead. Bummer...
Unfortunately, this is not unusual.

over 2 years with mine. eats acans and picked at some chalices but thats it. (feather dusters were gone within hours )

over a year, does not eat aptasia nor bother corals including zoas, sps and limited lps. won't eat prepared food, just blood worms and live clams on the half shell.

Have one for 2 years, he only eat frozen. Mysis, clams, eveything that is frozen basically but doesn't show interest in dry food at all. Try a couple times flakes that I soaked in mysis juice but spat it out.

Doesn't touch coral nor shrimp :D but like others, bye bye feather lol he cleaned an 110G of all feather in two days lol

I've had my copperband for almost 2 years. Eats aiptasia, PE mysis (his favorite) and blackworms like they're going out of style. Not sure about corals though because my tank is fish only.
