Copperband Butterfly with food stuck in mouth!

Hey Guys, I have a copperband butterfly and the only thing he will eat is strips of mussel that I have to feed by hand. I had a bit of a large piece and its completely blocked in his mouth. I guess my question is will he be able to maintain his O2 levels until the piece dissolves or dislodges naturally? There is no way water can get into his mouth at all.

thanks

Mine has that happen all the time. Usually it's not completely blocking but gets stuck in the teeth in his snout. Never had him show any signs of distress.

Is yours swimming normally? If so I be he'll be fine.

Good news, he was breathing pretty heavily for awhile, I decided not interfere and went to bed. This morning his is back to his old self grazing on the rocks. Lesson learned - thinner strips of mussel next time.
