How hard are one of these to keep? What requirements (other than water parameters) do these require, ie diet? Will they eat flake food?

I have 2 chromis, 6 line wrasse & royal gramma. Compatible?

Thanks for the help.

I had one eat frozen mysis, scallop, and brine shrimp from my hand. It did well for 9 months and then just ended up dying. I have been told that happen with these guys. FWIW

You will need to wean them onto frozen foods...that's the hard part I believe. Live black worms, fresh clam on the half shell and ENRICHED live brine are what many people use in the beginning.

This was my same exact experience, he would eat anything directly from my hand and ended up dead after about nine months. Plus a 55 may be a bit small for one of these guys as well (that is IF it lived very long).

I appreciate all of the suggestions. Just having a 55 may be a bit small and will hold off for now. Just another reason to consider a 180!

Wise choice John. I said the same thing and I'm planning a new 120 for myself :) I still don't think I'll try another CBB though, it was pretty sad to watch an excellent fish waste away after I thought I had so miuch success with him.

Exactly my sentiments. It was a model fish until it died. Even the day b4 mine died it ate 3 full meals.
