I've had a copperbanded butterfly for about 6 months and he seems very active and happy. Only eats live black worms plus copepods, tiny feather dusters from the rockwork. But he loves the live black worms and eats them like a pig. The tank is very peaceful: 150g with 1 kole tang, 2 yellow watchman gobies, 2 juvenile ocelaris clowns, 2 firefish. And they all get along very well.
Over the last 2 weeks, my CBB has developed something on it's tail. I first I thought it was bacterial or fungal, but I placed him in a 40g QT and it has not responded to Kanaplex at all. He is still very active with a great appetite, but I don't know what this is or how to treat it. The tail is still fully intack and the CBB doesn't seem to notice there is anything wrong with his tail. The growth is white & cottony and seems to be on the surface rather than imbedded in the tissue of the tail. I've included a few photos below. What do you think this is? And what should I do about it?
